It is worth mentioning that there are different methods when it comes to resetting one’s Apple ID password, that you can use without any Apple password recovery tool. Below are two of the most common options available.

Two-factor authentication

As explained beforehand, to reset your Apple ID password with this method, you need to have access to one of your trusted devices. If you use your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch, do the following.

    1. Open your setting.

    2. Tap your name.

    3. Go to Password & Security, and tap “Change password”. You will be asked to type a new password.

If the trusted device you want to use is a Mac, follow these steps.

Two-step verification

Again, two-step verification has to be enabled on your account for this option, and you should have a recovery key to complete the instructions below.

    1. Open your browser, and go to your Apple ID login page.

    2. Click “Forgot Apple ID or password”.

    3. Type in your Apple ID, go to the password resetting option, and click “Continue”.

    4. Type your recovery key in the box, and click “Continue”.

    5. Select a trusted device, on which you will receive a verification code.

    6. Type the verification code.

    7. Enter a new password, and click “Reset Password”.

How to reset your Apple or iCloud password with security questions?

If you are able to answer your security questions, you can reset your Apple ID password by following these instructions.

    1. Open your browser, and go to your Apple ID login page.

    2. Click “Forgot Apple ID or password”.

    3. Type in your Apple ID, go to the password resetting option, and click “Continue”.

    4. Click “Answer security questions”, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Install Apple Support App

In case none of those options helped reset your Apple ID password, you need to have the Apple Support App to unlock your Apple ID.

    1. In the app, open the Get Support tab.

    2. Tap Apple ID > Forgot Apple ID Password > Get started > A different Apple ID.

    3. Type your Apple ID.

    4. Tap “Next”, and proceed with the on-screen instructions.
